Satun is a small province in the fathest south of Thailand. Facing the Andaman Sea, the province possesses altogether 105 islands with verdant forests and mountainous land. The place has been founded and occupied by an old sea tribe called Urak-Lawoi since the reign of King Rama V. Nowadays, the tribesmen still live on the island and make a living by fishing.

Haad Chao Le: Located in the east or the front of Koh Li Pe, Haad Chao Le is a hundred-meter long beach with ranges of coconut trees. It is very near Koh Adang, only 800m away. From this beach you can watch sunrise scenery or walk across the fisherman community toward the west to Haad Phathaya 2 very well.

Haad Phathaya 2: Located in the west of the island, Haad Phathaya 2 is a very clean and beautiful semicircle beach. It is no wonder the most popular beach of the island. There are some accommodations, restaurants, touring service, and diving equipments for rent here. Moreover, this beach is the best site to watch sunset sceneery.

Watching the life of local seamen: Koh Li Pe is an island of an old seadiving to see coral reefs, visitors should alsovisit the fisherman community to see the life of local seamen. There people still fish in traditional way (diving down to set fish trap at the bottom of the sea), and their tradition song called Rong Ngaeng could be hardly heard elsewhere now.

The Nearby Island of Koh Li Pe:
Koh Li Pe is the center of travelling for those who wants to visit Mu Koh Adang-Rawi, and many other islands surrounded. Travelers might stay at Koh Li Pe and charter a boat to dive or sightsee around the nearby island very well within one or two days.

Koh Adang: Koh Adang is approximately 800m away from Koh Li Pe. It has a very fine and long sandy beach suitable for a swim. From the beach, there is a pathway leading to Haad Laem Son and Pha Chado Viewspot which are the best sunset beauty spots. You can also visit Namtok Chon Salad, a waterfall located around 2km from the main beach. On the island there are some lodging houses, tent grounds, and a restaurant of the national park to facilitate the trip for tourists.

Koh Rawi: Located around 1km from Koh Adang, Koh Rawi has one of the best sandy beaches of the province. It is also a fantastic spot to snorkel and see rich coral reefs along the beach. In the south of the island is a fall called Namtok Chon Long Le, while the west there is a fishing cape called Laem Tanyong Barbi. However, there are no resorts or restaurants on Koh Rawi, so visitrs should make a careful plan if they are to stay overnight at this island.

Koh Jabang: Koh Jabang is located in the east of Koh Hin Ngam. It is set party underwater similar to just a pile of stones in the sea. However, this spot called Rong Nam Jabang (Jabang Water Channel) is a wonndrous skin diving spot that is now gaining an international frame. Consult the seaman for the best period of the month to dive at this islet.

Koh Hin Ngam: Koh Hin Ngam is located 2.5km southwest of Koh Adang. This small island has no white, fine sandy beach, but instead its hoghlight is a uniquely black stony beach. The shiny back beach will appear most when the water gets low, and this is one of the most fantastic spot to stop by for some photos.

Koh Lo Guai: located around 2 km westwaed of Koh Hin Ngam, Koh Lo Guai is a small island with very white and beautiful sandy beach that stretches out into the sea in triangular sharp. This beach is also very suitable for a swim.

Koh Dong-Koh Hin Son: The last two islands in the west of Mu Koh Adang-Rawi, Koh Dong, and Koh Hin Son are the islands full with coral reefs and sea anemone. At Koh Dong, there is a sandy beach called Haad Ling which is nice for swimming, whereas Koh Hin Son is actually two large rocks lying toward the other in the middle of the sea. The two spots are very good fot both diving and fishing.

Koh Yang: Situated between Koh Adang and Koh Rawi, Koh Yang is the kinfdom of coral reefs. This is one of the top ten diving spots of the world, and the best of Satun Sea. The island doesnot only have wonderful coral reefs, but also two beautifully curved beaches in the east and the weat suitable for relaxing and watching islands scenery.

GETTING THERE:
From Satun town to Pak Bara Pier: take highway 4078 at Chalung Junction to La-Ngu district for 37km. Then go on to Pak Bara Pier for another 9km.

From Pak Bara Pier to Koh Li Pe:
Take a speedboat from Pak Bara Pier to Koh Tarutao and Koh Li Pe. The boat will leave the pier twice a day at 11.00am and 0.00pm; and return from Koh Li Pe at 11.00am and 03.00pm. The journey takes about 3 hours and the boat fare is 1,000 baht/person (round-trip ticket)
